Thursday May 5th

A really great visit to see Helen and Dave in their new home. Today's walk was a simple but still very pleasant amble around Silverdale. Even though the weather was good, some of the residents seemed to be anticipating rain.

When the cows are lying down, it's going to rain (or so it's said)
Silverdale is in Limestone Country with consequent verdant fields, and we crossed some lovely styles as we crossed fields.
Drystone walls and simple styles
There'd been some obvious new routing on some of the costal crags. In the case of the following, I'd hope that climbers only lowered off, rather than attempting to scramble up beyond the top protection!
Drilled protection, ideally for lowering on completion of climbs
In all, a very pleasant 3.3 miles with 82m ascent.
