Chinley to Foxholes Clough and back

First walk of June!

We left it until late in the day as the forecast for the morning was not great. We went to Chinley and dropped off the final green Denby at the Café on the Green- they will make good use of it there, we're sure.

We parked at the usual spot but walked up the road to Throstle Bank to gain height and go a different way from before. We took the footpath which went past the New Allotments. There were nice views of Barnsfold in front of us. Once again, we saw familiar places from a completely new perspective.

Mill Hill, Kinder and The Downfall on the skyline. Shooting Lodge just about visible
We headed right to Ridge Top and descended Foxholes Clough to pick up the path to Peep O' Day. It was really good to approach Peep O' Day from another direction, on a path that we'd seen signposted before. We took the minor road back to Chinley, passing some lovely houses on the way. It was a lovely afternoon/early evening walk and we got back to the car at about 6.20- very accurately estimated by Jacinta.

A nice walk in a familiar place but some different views made it really enjoyable.

5.5 miles, 567m ascent.
